The Nature & Climate Award
The Lumen Prize is proud to introduce a new award category for 2025: the Nature & Climate Award — celebrating artists who harness digital tools to explore urgent ecological questions and reimagine our relationship with the natural world.
This category was born from a growing movement among Lumen artists, using technology to examine, document, and re-envision the environment in ways both critical and hopeful. Their works traverse a complex terrain: satellite-driven climate identities, AI-generated ecosystems, intricate data visualizations of biodiversity loss, and installations crafted from e-waste.
Whether illuminating the beauty of natural systems, confronting environmental degradation, or proposing bold new futures, these works challenge, provoke, and inspire — showing that innovation isn’t just about technology, but about shaping a more hopeful, responsible future.
Meet the International Selectors Committee for the
Nature & Climate Award
To fairly assess these visionary and impactful creations, we've assembled a panel of jurors whose expertise spans environmental art curation, immersive experiences, emerging technologies, digital strategy, and eco-activism.
Representing academic research, curatorial innovation, technological leadership, and artistic practice, this year's Nature & Climate Award jury includes individuals working at the cutting edge of art, climate action, and technological transformation. Their collective experience ranges from pioneering climate-focused exhibitions and commissioning interdisciplinary projects to driving global conversations about sustainability, culture, and future resilience.
Together, they offer a deeply informed, future-focused lens on what it means to create powerful environmental art in the digital age.
Please note: This list includes ISC members who have chosen to publicly share their involvement, while others remain anonymous or are still being confirmed.
