The Literature & Poetry Award
This category celebrates digital works that expand the boundaries of language and written expression—across coded poetry, interactive narrative, generative literature, and hybrid forms of storytelling.
In recent years, we’ve been inspired by a growing wave of literary innovation within The Lumen Prize—so much so that we felt these works deserved their own space, highlighting the prominence of language-based practices within the wider digital art landscape.
From as early as 2017, artists entering The Prize have powerfully demonstrated how text, code, and visual language can intersect to question systems of control, identity, and meaning. We’ve seen explorations of institutional power, migration, translation, AI, and cultural legacy—each revealing the unique emotional and intellectual force of digital storytelling.
It’s this boundary-pushing creativity that led to the creation of the Literature & Poetry Award: a category that honours those reimagining what language can be in the digital age.
Meet the International Selectors Committee for the
Literature & Poetry Award
Judging this year's entries is a group of exceptional thought leaders whose expertise spans contemporary art publishing, algorithmic authorship, digital curation, and the evolving landscape of Web3 and AI-driven literary forms.
Our ISC features award-winning curators and editors who have shaped major art institutions and biennials, legal advocates pioneering new frameworks for generative artists, and digital advisors that empower creators at the intersection of technology and text—each selector brings a unique perspective on how literature is being developed in the digital era.
Their combined backgrounds reflect a global and cross-disciplinary understanding of storytelling: one that embraces both the literary canon and experimental futures.
Please note: This list includes ISC members who have chosen to publicly share their involvement, while others remain anonymous or are still being confirmed.
